My Approach
Meeting a new psychiatric provider can be intimidating and you may not know what to expect. Rest assured, my aim as your psychiatric nurse practitioner is to make sure that you feel supported every step of the way.
I strive to foster a therapeutic relationship centered around acceptance and understanding so that you feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that you have come to the right place.

REFLECTION
It all starts by getting to know you and what has led you to where you are today. Have you been diagnosed with a mental health condition before? Have you ever been prescribed psychiatric medication? We will take a look at what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past and use that information to develop a treatment plan that suits you.
-
PLANNING
Next, we will formulate a treatment plan based on your mental health needs. What are your treatment goals? How might medication fit in your treatment plan? Perhaps a change in lifestyle, nutrition, or supplement use? Comprehensive treatment using psychiatric mediation and supportive therapeutic techniques are generally considered the “gold standard” of mental health care.

MOVING FORWARD
Together, we will regularly monitor your response to treatment. Are our interventions helping you move closer to how you want to feel? If not, we will adjust our approach, further evaluate medication, lifestyle factors, natural supplementation, and utilize other supportive resources (e.g., community groups, educational material).
